About Our Trainers

Marcy is the owner of Off Leash K9 Training of Maine and very proud to use her knowledge and experience to help your canine companion have the best life possible! As the head trainer for Southern Maine, Marcy’s goal is to help dogs achieve freedom and a stronger, more trusting bond with their owners. She received her Dog Training Certification through Off Leash K9 Training Headquarters down in Virginia and has been working all throughout Southern Maine ever since.

Marcy has four dogs of her own, all of which were rescues. Keira (Shepherd/Retriever), Sky (Lab/Retriever), Moose (Staffordshire Terrier), and Navi (Australian Shepherd) keep her busy when she isn’t out training. Marcy lives with her dogs, her fearless cat and boyfriend in Brownfield, ME. Although quite the workaholic, on the rare occasion she isn’t training, you will most likely find her out in nature exploring with her dogs.

Marcy has had a love of animals her entire life. Growing up with dogs and cats, she started to understand how animals communicate and think from a young age. She has worked on multiple horse farms, volunteered in animal shelters and spent time as a kennel tech in the past. She appreciates and admires animals for their similarities and their differences. Dogs, of course, have a special place in her heart. She loves working with them and feels they teach her as much as she teaches them. 

When asked what her favorite part of this job is, she replied, “I love meeting a misunderstood dog and working with them to build trust, break down those walls and giving them a better quality of life. Not just them, but their owners as well. Teaching people how to better understand their dog and giving them the tools to tackle anything confidently makes me so happy!”
